about

We have known about the existence of planets outside the Solar system for decades, but they are so far away that we have only been able to discover a few of them, some of them hold promise and might be habitable, providing hope for alien life or an escape plan. But what is the sound of the 21st century? What do we listen to as we embark colonising space, or what music might be a valid means of communication when words fail.
"Exoplanetary Frequencies" is a collaborative research project which resulted in this sonic EP by Vienna born London based musician Guido Spannocchi on alto saxophone with some of the most prominent figures of the Austrian scene such as the multi award winning Gina Schwarz on electric bass, the internationally renowned David Six on Rhodes electric piano and the brazilian drummer Matheus Jardim.

The EP is produced by David Raddish who predominantly works in the field of alt pop and has therefore given this music his distinctive sound achieved by weeks of spending time meditating at the worlds largest asteroid and meteoroid collection and a number of modular synthesizers as well as outboard studio processing at Plattenwerk Studios Vienna.

This EP sails effortlessly between ambient electronica and contemporary jazz and has been used as sync music for videos by Vogue Portugal and featured on a short film about Times Square by Clover Green which has gained positive reviews on various film festivals around the globe.
Pre-release airplay has sparked interest through stations such as NTS Radio, Worldwide FM, Threads Radio, Voices Radio Brixton and BBC Radio 3
